Why Choose an
Aztech Feedpad Cover
It’s simple, our designs put cow comfort first, because comfort drives production. At Aztech, we know farmers need the right balance of welfare and efficiency, so every roof is built to deliver both.
How We Support Cow Health and Performance
Space
Our clear-span dairy housing makes movement easy, giving cows room to feed, groom and interact naturally.
Air
Open-sided designs and passive ventilation ensure fresh, clean air flow,
2.5 to 5 cubic metres per second for healthier, more productive herds.
Rest
Dry, comfortable resting areas are essential for animal health. With the right bedding and flooring options, cows can lie down for up to 13 hours a day, staying clean and stress-free.
Light & Shade
Permanent roofing gives a better balance than temporary systems, protecting cows from harsh weather while allowing natural light. Add ClearLite panels to fine-tune the shade to your herd’s needs.
Food & Water
We design troughs at the correct height and spacing to reduce competition, improve feed utilisation, and keep your cows performing at their best.

Case Study
Kybush Farms
Opotiki, Bay of Plenty
Built with durable timber poles and a Futura Box-Beam steel roof structure, this shed was designed to manage effluent run-off effectively while creating a comfortable, sheltered feeding area for cows. The result? Reduced feed wastage and a facility that truly works for both animals and farmers.

Case Study
Barrett Farms
Opotiki, Bay of Plenty
After two decades of open-air feeding, the team at Barrett Farms in Hurford made the call to build a custom cover for their 450-herd and the difference has been game-changing.
The new structure not only protects feed and keeps cows drier in wet months, but it also helps reduce nutrient runoff – a win for both efficiency and the environment.

Case Study
Simpson Farms
Rangiriri West, Waikato
Simpson Farms used to run two 44-aside herringbone sheds with half their herd milked in each. However, in 2018 Mike and Trevor Simpson decided it was time to make a change. They were driven by a desire to improve animal welfare, increase production levels, protect pasture and reduce the environmental impacts of the farm.

Putting cow comfort first with customised farm sheds
Local Dairy Farm, Mike Simpson of Rangiriri West, worked closely with Aztech Building’s team to design and deliver a feedpad cover that has transformed the operations at his farm. Watch his case study below or read the full case study after the video.
