Steel vs Timber?

The big question, Steel or timber?
Here at Aztech we use a range of materials to create our industry-leading buildings.
While Aztech often uses High Density poles for columns, when it comes to the roof structure, steel is the only way to go.
See our reasons below,

  1. Durability and Longevity: Aztech steel sheds are known for their exceptional durability and longevity. They can withstand harsh weather conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds, and snow, without rotting, warping, or deteriorating over time. Timber sheds, on the other hand, may be prone to decay, and other forms of degradation.

  2. Maintenance: Steel sheds generally require less maintenance compared to timber sheds. Unlike timber, steel is not susceptible to pests or rot, so there is no need for regular treatments or sealing to prevent damage. This makes steel sheds a low-maintenance option.

  3. Security: Steel sheds offer better security against break-ins and theft. They are harder to breach than timber sheds, which can be more vulnerable to forced entry.

  4. Strength and Structural Integrity: Steel is a stronger material than timber, allowing for larger open spaces without the need for internal supporting columns or walls. This can be beneficial when planning the interior layout of the shed.

  5. Customization: Steel sheds can be easily customized and designed to suit specific requirements, including size, shape, and features. Steel is a flexible material that allows for a wide range of design possibilities.

  6. Construction ready kit : Aztech steel sheds come in prefabricated kits, which include pre-cut and individually labeled components. This makes assembly more straightforward and reduces the need for extensive cutting and measuring on-site.

  7. Tek screw systems: Aztech steel sheds often use a Tek screw system, allowing for easy and quick assembly with basic tools. The parts fit together like a puzzle, simplifying the construction process.

  8. Lightweight:  Aztech steel components Are substantial but lighter than equivalent timber pieces, making them easier to handle and position during construction.

  9. Clear instructions: Aztech steel shed kits come with clear and detailed assembly instructions, making the construction process user-friendly, especially for those without advanced construction experience.

  10. Fewer construction steps: Aztech steel sheds generally require fewer construction steps compared to timber sheds, which can involve more intricate joinery and carpentry.
