What can you expect on the day at the Aztech Composting Barn Roadshow?

Each roadshow stop is practical, relaxed and farmer-led, focused on seeing the barn in action and hearing real experience from the people using it. On the day you can expect a guided walkthrough of a working composting barn, the host farmer's story including why they built it and what they have learnt, discussion around cow comfort, wintering, bedding, tilling and day-to-day barn management, practical insight into design, airflow, cow flow, feed and water layout, access and planning, input from Aztech and rural professionals, time for Q&A, lunch and informal conversations, and the opportunity to discuss your own project timing or next steps with the Aztech team.

Who should attend the Aztech Composting Barn Roadshow?

This roadshow is designed for dairy farmers considering composting barns, feedpad covers, cow housing or future farm infrastructure investment. It's also useful if you are planning ahead for the 2027 season and beyond, looking for better wintering or wet-weather management, interested in improving cow comfort and farm workflow, considering how a barn could fit into your wider farm system, or wanting to understand the practical realities before making an investment decision. Rural professionals and industry partners are welcome to attend and add value to the discussion.

How can rural suppliers and industry partners get involved in the roadshow?

The Aztech Composting Barn Roadshow includes a small number of selected rural suppliers and industry partners who can add practical value to the farmer-led discussion. Businesses that work with dairy farmers and want to discuss partnership opportunities can request the partner opportunities pack by contacting Jean Allan, Marketing Manager, at jean.a@aztechbuildings.co.nz.

Inside the Barn:
The Aztech Composting Barn Roadshow

The Aztech Composting Barn Roadshow brought farmers, rural professionals and industry partners inside working composting barns across New Zealand.

Across five stops and roughly 4,000km travelled, the roadshow created practical on-farm conversations around cow comfort, wintering, bedding management, feeding, maintenance, environmental considerations and long-term farm infrastructure planning.

The roadshow may be finished, but the conversations are still continuing.
